Condysil®
How Does Condysil Work?
External genital and perianal warts are cause by a virus called Human
Papilloma Virus. These wart-like growths are oftentimes referred to as
condyloma acuminata. While Condysil itself has not been demonstrated
to have any of its
own antiviral activity, Condysil cream is an alternative medicine that
may help stimulate the body's own immune response system
and helps the body
fight this
virus.
How Effective Is Condysil?
Users report seeing some results in 1-4 weeks and complete genital wart
removal in 8-12 weeks.
How Quickly Does Condysil Work?
Condysil cream can effectively clear genital warts as quickly as 4 weeks, although the average time to healing is 10 weeks and may take as long as 16 weeks. Results vary from person to person.
What is the difference between Condysil Crème and Condysil
Gel?
Although both products are designed to be safe and effective, they are
in fact very different: Condysil Crème contains natural ingredients
such as Colloidal Silver, Prunella Vulgaris, Tea Tree oil, Aloe
Vera, and vitamin E to promote
healthy skin and assist the body's immune system to naturally
fight the infection of HPV, the virus that causes genital warts.
These ingredients
have been demonstrated to have powerful anti-viral, and antibacterial
properties. In summary, Condysil Crème helps promote healthy skin
growth and assist the body's immune system without destroying
tissue.
· In contrast, Condysil Gel contains salicylic acid, an FDA approved
ingredient for over-the-counter wart removal products, although
our product contains it at a percentage low enough to be safe for use on extremely
sensitive skin. The GEL contains only a 5% salicylic acid solution.
In
higher dosages (17%) salicylic acid is an FDA approved wart removal
ingredient, and has been shown clinically to be VERY EFFECTIVE against warts,
HOWEVER
these types of products are very destructive to the skin and
are very dangerous to use in sensitive areas like the genitalia.
Some people have better results with Condysil Crème while other
people find Condysil Gel to work better for them. Neither product is "stronger",
or "more effective", they are just two completely different
products. Remember, there is no one product, presciption or otherwise
that "cures" warts. To some degree it is a hit-or-miss trial
and error situation, so we offer two different formulas. If you
would like to try both, we offer a combination package of both products
which
will save you over $10 as compared to purchasing them seperately.

NEVER USE A 17% SALICYLIC ACID (OVER THE COUNTER WART REMOVER) PRODUCT
IN THE GENITAL REGION.
Condysil Gel contains a 5% solution of salicylic acid which does not
act to damage the skin, but rather to assist in delivering the other key
ingredients like Melaleuca and Prunella Vulgaris deep into the skin tissue,
to help assist the body's own immune system to fight back.
If you have diabetes, HIV or other sensitivities and/or allergies to
salicylic acid, please see the Important Warning below.
Moreover, the Aloe Vera and Tea Tree oil have been shown in clinical
studies to be highly effective against bacteria and other micro organisms,
while the Prunella Vulgaris has been shown to be an extremely effective
anti-viral agent. Applied twice daily, relief is painless, and doesn't
scar or burn.
Although it does contain the powerful anti-viral ingredient Prunella
Vulgaris, as well as ingredients like vitamin E and aloe Vera to promote
healthy skin growth, this product should be regarded as a tissue "destroyer" because
of the acid it contains. This product can irritate the skin, and most
people use this product AFTER they have tried another method that was
unsuccessful or ineffective, or when the warts grew back quickly after
another type of treatment.
How Do I Use Condysil Cream?
- Results are best obtained
when using the "surround and drown" technique,
most easily accomplished by the following method: applying a bit of crème
to a Band-Aid and then applying the Band-Aid to the affected area. Repeating
this process and leaving the wart "soak" in the crème
as long as possible seems to work better than "rubbing it in" until
the skin is dry to the touch. Often people apply the crème to an
area where walking, wearing clothes etc. can easily rub it off. The crème
IS MOST EFFECTIVE when left on the area for long periods of time,
so if it gets rubbed off, the wart won't absorb it and the product
does not have
a chance to work.
- If you forget to use the creme for a day or two, just begin the
process again, but diligent application is the secret to success.
- The most
important concept to remember is "surround and drown" literally
soaking the wart in the creme for long periods at a time, several
times a day.
- Using
this method, results are usually seen
in 24-48 hours. First the wart will change color,
usually turning a lighter color
than the surrounding skin. After several more days the wart will "soften
up" and begin to break apart. The wart may appear to
actually increase in size temporarily as it absorbs the creme,
but as long
as there is a difference in color and texture, the creme
is working. Diligently applying this creme to the wart several
times a day,every
day, the wart will slowly disappear over several weeks. The
normal length of time for the entire process is 4-6 weeks,
although this
may vary depending on the person and the shape and size of
the wart.
- NOTE:
if you do this, make sure
to watch for irritation or redness, as the
crème DOES contain ingredients
that could irritate the skin
in some people even though it does
not
contain any acid.
When Should I Use Condysil Cream?
Typically, dosing is twice a day, 7 days a week:
Apply Condysil cream at bedtime and waking time, after bathing, so you
do not wash off the cream. Treatment with Condysil cream should continue
until the warts are completely gone, or up to 16 weeks.
Can I Have Sex While Using Condysil Cream?
Sexual contact should be avoided while the cream is on the skin. If you decide to have sexual relations, apply Condysil cream after - not before - sexual activity. If you have already applied the cream, it should be washed off before sexual activity. In addition, Condysil cream may weaken condoms and diaphragms; therefore the cream should not be left on during sexual activity. The effect of Condysil cream on the transmission of genital warts is unknown.
Side Effects
Condysil cream doesn't destroy healthy skin. Most people who use Condysil cream don't complain of pain. One of the most common side effects is redness. This may be a sign that your immune system is working. Other common side effects are peeling of the skin, itching, flaking, and swelling around the warts.
Important Additional Information
Because Condysil cream doesn't cure Human Papilloma Virus, the cause of genital and perianal warts, new warts may form during treatment.
Warning:
Condysil Gel contains salicylic acid. People with diabetes, HIV or other
sensitivities and/or allergies to salicylic acid should not use this
product. EVERYONE should check with their physician before using this product.
If
redness or irritation occurs, cease using immediately and consult physician.
Condysil cream may weaken condoms and diaphragms, so sexual contact should be avoided while the cream is on the skin.
How Condysil cream affects the spread of genital warts to a partner is not known.
A woman who is or becomes pregnant while using Condysil cream should notify her health care provider immediately.
Do not use Condysil to treat internal (inside the vagina or anus) warts.
Avoid using overly large amounts of cream.
A thin layer that completely covers each wart is enough.
